Community Events 2024
We're committed to making a positive impact beyond our walls. Participate in our outreach ministries and initiatives, which are aimed at serving the needs of our local community and promoting positive change.
Community Dinners: Food has a unique way of bringing people together. Join us for our community dinners, where you can enjoy a delicious meal while engaging in meaningful conversations with fellow attendees.
Emmanuel Dining Room: At least 10 times a year, teams meet to cook meals to be delivered and served at the Emmanuel Dining Room in Wilmington. In addition, cookies and rolls are provided. The food is delivered to Emmanuel Dining Room for general distribution to those in need.
Holiday Brown Bag Concerts: Local artists & choirs will entertain you with a mix of holiday and popular music during the lunch hour. Bring lunch, we will provide beverages.
Vacation Bible School: Our Summer Vacation Bible School is offered in July for school-aged children in a 5-evening format with a kid-friendly dinner included.
Seaman Center Ditty Boxes: Join in gathering items for sailors arriving at the Port of Wilmington: toiletries, playing cards, and many other items are collected, packed into shoe boxes and wrapped in early December. Knit hats and scarves accompany the boxes.
Bookbag Challenge: Grace parishioners collect school supplies and bookbags for needy students of the Brandywine School District. Collection is during July and early August.
Claymont Food Pantry: We join in collecting non-perishable food stuffs for the Claymont Community Center. Seasonal collections highlight the additional need in Fall and Spring while continuous donations throughout the year to sustain those in need.
